Yame, in Fukuoka, is one of Japan’s most celebrated tea regions, known especially for high-grade, shade-grown teas. We tasted our way through countless matcha from the area before finding this one, and it was worth the search.
Made entirely from shade-grown, first-harvest leaves, it’s beautifully balanced: smooth and rounded, with a mellow nuttiness that lingers gently. We chose it because it shines both ways. Whisk it on its own and you’ll taste its depth and softness; add milk and its flavour still comes through clearly.
